    Question

How does a PAC Connector pull images from MyID? Does the connector request the image from MyID and the MyID Application Engine figures out where the image is stored and serves it up to the Connector?

    Answer

When triggered by a MyID event, such as users being added or edited, the PACS connector queries data from vPeopleUserAccounts and other sources, which includes user images. The connector then pushes the data to PACS via HTTP. The user images could be stored in the database, in the BinaryObjects table or in an image file.

    Question

When should I convert the images to the BinaryObjects table? Are there patches available to do this in v10, or must I perform that conversion on v9 using patches P901MP213_C and U901MP122_A prior to migrating the MyID database to v10?

    Answer

The images can be converted to BinaryObjects when it suits you: you could use the tools you already have and do it before the upgrade, or you could use UTIL-1.0.1000.12_A after you have upgraded.
