MY0383 Replacement card job validation

Question:

When creating certificate renewals or card replacement jobs, should their status go straight to Awaiting Issuance without requiring validation?

Answer:

Certificate renewals – these are replacing individual certificates within the credential profile so we would not expect approval on these jobs. If the customer requires some other validation step, then automatic certificate renewals should not be used.

For card replacement jobs, there is a global configuration setting called Approve Replacement Cards – a description of this configuration setting can be found in the documentation: section 34.6 of the Administration Guide for MyID 10.8 or section 28.6 in the MyID 11 Administration Guide.

Refer to the table below which explains how this global configuration works with the Validate Issuance setting of the Credential Profile to determine the expected status for replacement card jobs:
