MY0300 MyID client does not start

Issue:
The MyID Desktop client will not start on a new installation on a Windows 10 machine and no error messages are displayed.

Resolution:
There is a bug in Microsoft’s .NET Framework 4.8, in:

• • • Windows 10 Anniversary Update (Version 1607)
    • Windows 10 Creators Update (Version 1703)
    • Windows Server 2016

An updated .NET 4.8 installer is available from Microsoft.

The fix for this issue is ‘Fixed System.Web.Caching initialization bug when using ASP.NET cache on machines without IIS’ as listed in Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4486129).

The code affected by this .Net bug was replaced in the following versions of MyID clients:

• • • DSK: 2.6.1000.1
    • SSA: 2.4.1000.1
    • SSK: 2.4.1000.1
