As the Meltdown/Spectre issue occurs in the processor, it’s effect on MyID is the same as for any software running on Windows. The corrective firmware update should have no adverse effect on functionality of MyID, but it can potentially affect performance.
The firmware update is known to have an effect on system performance across all applications, and can result in a 15-20% average decrease in system processing speed. This is variable depending on both hardware and usage though, so it’s effect on MyID specifically is not easily quantifiable. If you have an equivalent system elsewhere you can test this directly. We have not had any reports from any customers to say that this update has caused problems with MyID.
